Please excuse me if I posted this twice. I don't see my original post so I think it didn't take.
I am trying to use shared folders with CentOS Linux. My host machine is Windows 8. I have tried every procedure that I can find and always get stuck on the mount command. I have run VBoxLinuxAdditions.run as directed and it ran to completion. Then I rebooted as directed.
Does anyone know what is going wrong?
[root@eddy-lnx media]# ls /media/sf_*
ls: cannot access /media/sf_*: No such file or directory
[root@eddy-lnx media]# ls /media
shared VBOXADDITIONS_4.2.6_82870
[root@eddy-lnx media]# ls /media/shared/
[root@eddy-lnx media]# mount -t vboxsf /mnt/shared/C_DRIVE /mnt/shared/
/sbin/mount.vboxsf: mounting failed with the error: Protocol error
[root@eddy-lnx media]#
