New to Virutal Box. Installed Version 4.2.6 on Toshiba laptop with Windows 7 as host OS. Downloaded Ubuntu 12.10 (tried both 32 and 64 bit iso images) and walked through install. All went well until prompted to restart computer at which time received and error: "Oracle VM Virtual Box Manager has stopped working". Forced to terminate Virtual Box without any indication of root cause of error. The following reflects platform config and VBox config:
Intel(R) Core (TM) i3-2330M CPU @ 2.20 Ghz, 4 GB memory , 64 bit Windows 7 OS
VBOX Config:
1.5 GB Memory, 30 GB VHD, 64MB Video Memory, 3D Acceleration Enabled
Would appreciate any guidance in resolving this problem.

Is Virtualbox running properly after the restart?

Virtual Box app continues to run. The status of the VM in the GUI indicates "Aborted"

Could you start the VM and see if the install went fine? It could simply be a glitch into the shutdown handling of the VM, but nothing more and therefore your VM could be working with no issues.

When I restart the VM, the Ubuntu install window appears. This time I closed the install window and the Ubuntu desktop came up! At this point, all is well... Thanks for your responses.

Simply remove the ISO from the CD/DVD drive of your VM.
