Fatal: Could not read from boot medium! System halted.

Post by JuanZ »

Hello,

I installed a VM into a network server computer - Windows Server 2003 R2 to be exact. I installed Windows XP into the machine, connected it to the domain, and installed all the applications I needed on it. It works fine for a couple hours before crashing and giving me the "Fatal" error. I only have the hard disk that I created selected on the boot order. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I suspect a network glitch or bandwidth problem, perhaps a backup task starting up. That and likely poor performance are reasons I would not locate a virtual disk on a network drive.

Thanks mpack! It was in fact a backup task that would stop the VM. All is good now thanks. :D
