Host: XP , Guest: XP, freeze at USB usage

Post by BigProblem »

Hi,
every time I try to use a USB device, the guest system stop working. The USB icon on bottom of VirtualBox window get a red Dot.

in detail:
Host: Windows XP Prof. OEM
Guest: Windows XP Home
If I plug in a new USB device, the guest cant get control until I add it to USB filter. If I add them in options, the guest system will freeze after booting (99% CPU in task manager). If I add a generic filter and active it live, the guest will also stop working. If I add no filter and activate it live, it freezes too. At first activation in the guest system, I get a message about successfully installation of my device. After this, guest is freezing too. Sometimes after activating, the host system notice me about installing a new device "USB VirtualBox".
I run the VirtualBox in Sandboxie.
With Ubuntu guest it also freezes.
On other PC with Win7 Host, it worked fine. On third PC with Win7, I got no message from Guest and no freeze. But I am not sure if i activate the USB in both systems (but used no filter). Cant check that again.

Since Christmas I use my free days to get a USB (1.0) audio device working on the guest systen...but it still don't work ;(

Someone has some hints?
