OpenGL Game Crashes Windows 7 VM on OSX 10.8.2

I have an OpenGL based 3D game that will run for a few minutes before the entire VM will crash.

I'm running VirtualBox 4.2.6 r82870 on a MacBook Air.

I've selected 3D support and installed the DirectX drivers on the Windows 7 32-bit guest.

The game will start up normally and will work properly for a few minutes or even longer if I don't move around much within the game (There from there dot com), but if I move around the game quite a bit, the VM will crash completely.

I've tried nearly every combination of settings for the VM without any luck.

I have a core file from when the VirtualBox VM crashes, but I'm not sure where I'm to place this file for inspection. Where do I upload the core file?

MacBook Air details:

Processor 1.8 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
Software OS X 10.8.2

Thanks,

Jeff G.

AFAIK, 3D support is experimental in Virtualbox and there are no guarantee it will work.

Agreed. It is experimental.

I did install the Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-4.2.6-82870.vbox-extpack and then reinstalled DirectX support.

I then switched from OpenGL to DirectX 9 support and the game then ran without crashing.

The DirectX rendering is noticeably slower than the OpenGL, but at least it doesn't crash the VM.
