I'm trying to access USB 2.0 drives with a USB 3.0 motherboard. My host OS (Windows 8 ) detects them fine. But neither Vista or Windows 8 guests detect them. I've installed guest additions, the extension pack, tried empty filters, rebooting, and enabling/disabling the USB 2.0 controller.
If I click Devices > USB Devices > My Device, nothing happens and the guest reports "no USB devices attached". If I try it again, it reports the device is "busy with a previous request".
Any ideas?
USB not working with 3.0 motherboard
Re: USB not working with 3.0 motherboard
Ok, I figured this out. As it turns out, my copy of Windows wasn't activated and was missing important updates. At least that's what I believe was the problem. USB is working fine now
Re: USB not working with 3.0 motherboard
USB is broken again. All I get is Failed to attach the USB device...USB device is busy with a previous request.
Does anyone have any ideas or updates? I've read through every single thread about this issue and tried every solution. I'm really at a loss and USB support is critical to my business.
Also, here are some settings from my BIOS. I have no idea if these settings matter or not.
