Mac OS X dies during startup screen

Hey There.
I followed the video here to do Mac OS X on my computer: [link deleted by mod]
I got past the installation, remove the disk, and then when I start it up it does the Navy Blue startup screen (with green text at the top and "press any key to enter startup options"), and then it will show the silver MAC OS X startup screen, but before it shows the loading circle below the apple logo, the window just closes itself out.

I don't know what went wrong. Any ideas?
