Guests aborting/insta-crash, new bug since 4.2.6, SERIOUS

I've noticed this ever since I upgraded to 4.2.6. And these are Ubuntu guests which gave me no trouble before now, and suddenly they are randomly closing out. I mean a complete close, the guest window just disappears and in the VM list is says "Aborted."
Is there anything I can do to help the devs resolve this? Anyone else having this problem?

Sadly, nothing is written to the log when the guest aborts. Nonetheless, here's my log file for this VM.
Host is Mac OS 10.8.2. 16GB RAM.
It's Ubuntu 12.10 64-bit, with 2048MB RAM, 128MB video RAM, 3D acceleration enabled.

I have a hunch it has to do with 3D acceleration. I've turned that off for the time being and will see if any crashes occur again.

I am seeing the same thing in Win7. 2D acceleration causes random VM crashes and D3D crashes when I try to use it. Turning off both accelerations fixes it but of course D3D apps are unusably slow. Dxdiag shows no errors and I don't see anything in the Event Viewer. The VM logs don't show errors but the last messages relate to video driver calls, I attached two.
I have the D3D extensions installed from Safe Mode (the "basic" one, not the experiment one).

Same issue here. I'm on a macbook pro retina with a Ubuntu 64bit guest. The login screen shows fine, but as soon as I log in the desktop screen shows for a second before crashing (existing with an "Aborted" icon on the virtualbox panel).

Disabling 3D acceleration seems to have stopped the crashes for me.

Me too but of course then there is no 3D acceleration.

As reported here also
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=53250. There are other threads on same issue.

I'm having the same problem with multiple guest OSes. I am running VirtualBox 4.2.8 on a MacBook Pro host. The problem happend on 4.2.6 also. It happens with Windows 7 x64 guest and with CentOS 6 x64 guest.
Guest machines do not have 3D acceleration enabled. They do have the guest additions installed.
The problem seems to be related to being on battery power. When the host machine is on battery power and goes to sleep, when it wakes up, the running VM often (but not always) dies instantly with no messages in the VM log files and status "Aborted" in the list. When the host machine is on AC power, it does not happen.
Thanks, hope this helps.

These kinds of problems that are reproducible should be reported to
bugtracker. If you have not signed on to Bugtracker before you will need to select a new Nickname to be able to report issues.
It would also help if you can post the ticket number here so other can see the progress, add information, or see the final results.
