VirtualBox-4.2.6 - NAT Port Forwarding Problem

Post by Tranquilo »

Hi, today i updated our VirtualBox to the new version 426. Unfortunately we have stumbled upon an error on NAT Port Forwarding.
Our Host OS is Windows 7 64bit, Guest OS is Windows 2012 Server 64bit.
While installing the new version, everything went seamlessly well. We also installed the guest os additions after everything was running.
Our problem is that basically we cant access our Web Server on port 80 because VirtualBox apparently can't forward it.
We have found the following lines on the log:

Code: Select all

00:00:01.977231 NAT: set redirect TCP host port 80 => guest port 80 @ 10.0.2.15
00:00:01.977858 NAT: failed to redirect TCP 80 => 80
You can find the log file here:
TranquiloWinServer-2012-12-21-11-23-39.log
VirtualBox Log File
(81.02 KiB) Downloaded 2 times
We tried removing and adding the rule again to port forward but still unsuccessfully.
We also tried changing the network adapted but it didn't solve the problem.
I am running a bit out of ideas on why VirtualBox cant forward port 80 when he did it perfectly in the previous version.
Maybe the only option left is to manually make the rule in HostOS Firewall so he redirects the port to the GuestOS?
Any lights on this would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your time.

The problem was plain and simple: Skype.
Somehow skype interferes with this.
Just make sure Skype is turned off when you start your VirtualBox.

Thank you
