Mac Failed to attach the USB device to the virtual machine

Hello i am getting the following error when i try to connect a USB device to my virtual machine:

MY HOST: Apple MacBook Pro 10.8.2
MY GUEST: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

I have VirtualBox 4.2.4 and Extension Pack 4.24 installed
