Error when adding shared folder

Post by thany »

When adding a shared folder, simply by pasting its absolute path into the "Folder Path" input box, it throws this error when OKing the Add Share and Settings windows:

Code: Select all

Failed to create the shared folder down2 (pointing to g:\Download\) for the virtual machine Windows XP IE7.

Shared folder path 'g:\Download\' is not absolute.

Result Code: E_INVALIDARG (0x80070057)
Component: Console
Interface: IConsole {db7ab4ca-2a3f-4183-9243-c1208da92392}
When I select "other" and browse to the very same directory, the same path is put into the input box, and this time it works fine.
So what's the difference between browsing to a directory and letting VB fill out the absolute path, and pasting it in yourself? Anyway, the latter one doesn't work.
I'm probably running the latest everything. Yolo.

No difference. To know what your typo was we would need to see the exact setting, e.g. by posting a zipped copy of the non-working .vbox file.
