Hi there,
I am planning to install virtualbox in my company's computer (windows 7 x86). I have some specific data collection card installed in the host. I am wondering if the virtual machine installed via virtualbox will see that card and can I use the card to do data collection? I didn't use anything like virtualbox before, so I am asking for those have experience on the similar problem.
about accessing the some data collection card in the host

Depends if it is a USB device. If it is PCI probably not.

PCI passthrough requires that your CPU supports VT-d and currently only graphics adapters have been targeted. It's new and not well tested due to the lack of PCs that support VT-d.
