Win 7 guest on Win 8 host creates 8 different VM windows

Post by fishnet37222 »

Hello,

I just noticed something strange with VirtualBox 4.2.4 on Windows 8 64-bit. I installed Windows 7 64-bit on a brand new VM. The installation itself went through without a hitch. However, whenever I boot the VM, 7 additional windows are created just before the login prompt appears in the original window. It doesn't seem to affect the operation of the VM, and all the extra windows close when the VM is closed. I was wondering if anyone else had noticed that and if there's anything I can do to stop it from happening.

Please attach the VM Vbox.log (after turning off the VM) with some screenshots of the extra windows as a zip file

Here's the log file. There isn't much point in screenshots of the extra windows since they're all the same size as the main window and all black.

You have "Monitor Count" set to 8 in the VM settings.
