VRDP does not work on Windows 7 Host (Ubuntu Client)

I have a Windows 7 Host with the latest version of Virutalbox (4.2.4, 81684). Within it, I have an Ubuntu (12.10) Client. Everything works fine when I'm working on it locally, however VRDP does not work. I've enabled the remote display server with the port 1234 and no authentication for now. However when I connect to it from the very same computer with Windows RDP to either of these addresses, it does not work.

Did I miss a step somewhere? I remember setting this up years ago on an XP box & it worked without much tinkering.

Was your VM running while you took this? I didn't mention it, but it has to be. I assume the VRDP port is still 1234?
If the VM was not running, can you run the command again with the VM running and put the output to a text file and attach it instead, thank you.

Hmm, so I noticed that the IPv4 settings for the VirtualBox Host-Only Network was requesting a specific IP, so I changed it to Obtain an IP address automatically. Then, I ran the virtual Machine & ran netstat again. I mention this because it may have caused a change.

The port is not open indeed, can you zip and post as attachement your vbox.log file for the VM, after you've shut it down?

Hah! That's embarrassingly obvious, but I forgot that the Extension pack existed. Thanks for the help!

Something similar is happening to me, but I'm running Win XP as the client. I have the extensions for 4.2.6 loaded, but still no joy on making it work.
Here are 2 attachments, the first is the netstat -abn from my Windows 8 machine, the 2nd is the log file from my VM.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Your hint is at the top of the log file. Did you read it?
