Good Day,
I setup VirtualBox on my Windows 8 Pro 64-Bit system, setup a Ubuntu 64-bit virtual machine, and set it up to be a TimeMachine drive for my MacBook Pro. This worked great, I backed up my Mac, now all of a sudden the virtual machine won't boot, and in trying to run a repair on its system, booting off the Ubuntu CD now reports that I need a 64-bit system to run the installation.
In checking the virtual machine settings, all my options for "64-Bit" have disappeared. Under windows there used to be a Windows XP 64-Bit which now there isn't, and under Linux there also used to be a Ubuntu 64-Bit option (which of course is whar I used to setup the machine in the first place) and now its gone. I need to get the machine up and running again and continue to perform backups to my Mac.
Does anybody have any ideas?
Thank you!

Sounds like hyper-v is your nemesis. Search for how to disable or uninstall it.
