Mouse clicks on host instead of guest

Hello,

I'm running an ubuntu 12.04 guest on a mac os x host with virtualbox 4.2.4.
The problem is, that in scaled an seamless mode, although the mouse cursor is captured, it's click actions (left and right button) act on the corresponding background on the host.
For example I want to open a terminal on the guest by left mouse click on the unity dash bar, it just clicks at the same position behind on my host and e.g. opens safari. On the guest nothing is happening. In fullscreen mode, everything goes right.
What is wrong there?

Best regards,
Apotekarnes

Edit:
I want to add that also in fullscreen mode, the small virtualbox bottom menu, which somehow becomes invisible in my setup, somehow blocks clicking items in the guest's taskbar, if these items are located, where the vbox menu normally would be.

And one last problem:
Working in scaled mode is impossible, because:
1.: The aspect ratio of the guest's visible working surface stays always in the one same weird non-widescreen dimensions, no matter if I change (drag) the outer host's container window bars/frames.
2.: In scaled mode, the guest surface/picture is shifted a few pixels upwards and covers the host's upper surrounding window bar. Therefore I'm not only unable to click the host's minimization and maximization buttons but also have an erroneous (up-shifted) mouse click position in the guest.

To me it seems like all these problems have the same reason.
What can I do to solve all this?

Does nobody have an idea? I would really like to work with VBOX. Thank you!

that's working as intended - it is the whole point of seamless mode, that both your display are "merged" as one.

It seems like OSX support is just not the highest when it comes to scaled mode, but don't forget the host OS will put restriction of his own, regardless how hard you try to make it work in a certain way - this could be one of them.
As of what to do to solve it, I will leave anyone having experience with OSX answer that question :)
