What you are doing won't work.
Install the guest additions.

That is what i started with, and then i triad all other suggested methods and finally this.

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install dkms build-essential linux-headers-$(uname -r)
then install the guest additions.

edit: it's an extremely slow process, does attempt to rebuild the entire system ?
