Hi,
I am new to virtualbox and I installed it incl. 2 (Win 7 Prof x64) VMs on my server (3570k cpu with HD4000 graphics, gigabyte z77 mb, 16gb ram) but I have a problem with the max resolution.
When on the server I can use any resolution (e.g. 1920*1080) as long as such a big monitor is attached. If no monitor is attached, the max. resolution is 1600*1200.
Now if I start any VM, the max resolution I can choose is 1600*1200 (no matter what monitor is on the server), even though I chose no limit for resolution in the global settings.
Do you know how I could solve this issue?
Thanks a lot in advance!!!!
Best regards,
DuckDagobert

Re: Max Resolution?
You only have the 4:3 aspect ratio resolutions. Have you installed the guest additions (in the guest OS)?

Re: Max Resolution?
Thank you, I installed the guest addition now I have bigger resolutions available. Is there any way to use a 1920*1080 resolution because I only have 4:3 ones available?!

Re: Max Resolution?
I think the simulated monitor is 4:3 by default. However you can drag the window to any size and aspect ratio you want. You can also use fullscreen and seamless modes. I've become quite fond of the latter myself.
