Hi, i'm expecting problems with the interface on a virtual machine that runs RHEL 5.5 64bit with the linux kernel 2.6.18-194.el5. With high resolution configuration (over 1024x768px) on Full Screen/Adjusted/Fluid Mode the VM presents the following bugs:
[*] Cursor position is some pixels defased (For example: I click on System menu, but it do it over Web Browser icon)
[*] Some components of the interface disapear until you pass mouse over them.
I have tested it with Windows XP and Windows 7 Professional as host.
Technical information:
Host:
* 4Gb RAM (3,25 available)
* 128Mb Video
* OS Windows XP Professional 32 bit
* VirtualBox 4.2.4r81684
Guest:
* 1024Mb RAM
* 32Mb Video
* 1 CPU
* OS RedHat Enterprise Linux 5.5 64bit (kernel 2.6.18-197.el5)
Any ideas about how can be solved?
Thanks!

Re: Cursor defased and display errors in RedHat
Have you installed the guest additions (in the guest) and are you sure it installed properly.
Re: Cursor defased and display errors in RedHat
Yes, I installed the Guest Additions in default path just with , and Guest Additions starts with OK status on startup.
I tried with SUSE LES 11 64bit without any problem. But it have a diferent linux kernel version (2.6.32) and a diferen X Server version (1.6.5) but same X Server protocol (11).
Code: Select all

Post the /var/log/vboxadd-install.log (as an attachment)
Re: Cursor defased and display errors in RedHat
The issue happens with and without Guest Additions installed. Anyways i attach the log you request. Maybe its dirty because i was trying a lot of ideas, but here it is.

Re: Cursor defased and display errors in RedHat
Log shows good install. I see this from time to time on RedHat. Usually you need to report it to bugtracker if the GAs install properly to get a fix. If the GAs work properly it fixes the mouse pointer off by "pixels" issues. Same issue with Solaris sometimes as well. Be sure to include this vboxadd-install.log and the guests log file (all as an attachment) when you create your ticket.
