Windows XP Guest on Windows 7 LATEST BUILD problem

Post by Daniel T »

Greetings all,

I have a problem which began only since the latest build of VirtualBox.
I have a Windows XP Pro guest running with a few applications that are always loaded.
One of these applications, when restored from minimized state, does not properly paint the window borders, title bar, or button faces until I roll the mouse cursor over those areas.
This only began since I updated VB to the latest build.
This has been consistent even after reboots.
There is nothing else that has changed aside from the latest build of VB being updated.

Any advice? Is this a known issue being worked on?

Some technical information:
Host: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Intel i7 CPU, 8GB RAM
Guest: Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 512MB RAM

There are only ever 3-4 applications running on the guest, and they are:
Goldmine 5.7
Outlook 2010
MYOB
ClickYes Pro (a utility to facilitate delay-free MAPI email sending from MYOB via Outlook.

I realize Outlook may stand out as a memory hog, but in fact, it is not, because it is only loading an account with minimal data.
At any typical moment there is easily close to 300MB RAM free and available.

I hope there's a known issue being worked on.
Thanks.

Assuming that you updated the guest additions (in the guest) as well, there has been work done on the video compiler for VBox. You might want to post a ticket at bugtracker

I was fairly certain I updated the Guest Additions as well, but I'm doing it again now just in case. Will FUP.
