Installing Win7 (64 or 86) Issue

Post by MELFARRA »

Hello All Experts,

I have Win Server 2008 R2 (64 bit), I have installed Oracle V. Box latest version.

Whenever I'm trying to install Win7 Ultimate x64 i'm getting an error as " File: \windows\system32\boot\winload.exe

Status: 0x000035a

================================================

BIOS settings are already enabled and supporting Virtual.
================================================

After that I tried to install Win7 Ultimate x86 and getting a totally black screen after the windows bar loading.

The wonder part, when I setup the new VM, I can't select 64 for any of the OS's

Kindly advise in how to fix the above two issues.

On Perryg...

True, Hyper-V is installed.

Is this a mistake?

Yes. Hyper-v takes ownership of VMX at boot and VBox needs to use it for 64-bit guests.

Disable Hyper-V in the boot options, or uninstall it completely

Sorry, but I need Hyper-V for studying.

If I disable Hyper-V in the boot, will it work as installation and after that I can renable Hyper-V again and both functioning smoothly.

Any other alternatives.

That has nothing to do with installation. You always have the problem when VBOX and Hyper V are working at the same time.

If you want to use VBOX, you have to reboot with disabled Hyper V.

Hyper-V lock the virtualization feature of the CPU for exclusive use at boot time, which means it is not available in Virtualbox.
There is no workaround this : either Disable Hyper-V or be limited in Virtualbox
