Centos 6.3 - VirtualBox 4.2.4 - 3D don't work

Hello,

I post here because I spent days to get compiz working without success... The worst thing is that was working before I had to reinstall my whole system.

So, after selecting compiz in "Desktop Effects" menu item, menus et status bar desappears, only the background screen and the cursor remain, and, nothing else.
I'm still able to move the cursor, but nothing else happens.

Host : Win7
Guest : Centos 6.3
VBOX : 4.2.4, VBox additions installed successfully.
On a dell vostro 3560 - intel HD Graphics 4000 + Radeon HD7670M

Partial Logs do little to nothing as far as information that could help.
Post the complete log (as an attachment)

Also post the /var/log/Xorg.0.log and /var/log/vboxadd-install.log (also as an attachment).

What does glxinfo in a terminal report?
Also run glxgears and see if it works.

As I saw in other post, I reinstalled virtualbox 4.2.0 (+additions) and it's working.
VB 4.2.4 with 4.2.0 addtions also works.

Trying to reply you, I compiled 4.2.4 addtions, but, compiz was already set... So I'm now stucks...

I've also tried 4.2.2 + additions, It doesn't work.

I'll fix my VM and i come back to you

It doesn't appear to be using the 3D hardware acceleration. I'm not really sure why because I don't use CentOS a lot. I'll install one tomorrow and see what it says, but it may be due to a udev rule missing. Another thing that comes to mind is I think I have seen the same issue before (not recently though) and it had to do with the settings in Compiz and/or the DT manager settings of Compiz.

Anyway I'll see if I can find some time to install tomorrow a desktop version, normally all I use CentOS for is a server and in console mode.

OK so I have installed CentOS 6.3 and added epel repo installed compiz and tested.
Install VBox guest additions 4.1.20 http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualb ... 4.1.20.iso
Then run glxinfo | grep direct and make sure that direct rendering = yes
If all is good compiz will work, see screen shot below. Newer Guest Additions don't seem to work with CentOS and Compiz.
