Can't see 64bit systems

Post by Studio384 »

I'm using Windows 8 Pro 64bit with VirtualBox 4.2.4, but I can't see 64bit OS in the list (so I can't chose "Windows 7 (64-bit)" when I create a new virtual machine). I've download the version on the download page of virtualbox, did I download the wrong file? IF yes: wich one doe I need? I hoop someone can help me.

You need to enable hardware virtualization in your PC bios. Also you can not have another hypervisor (Hyper-V) running as only one instance of VMX can be used at one time.

Well you check your owners manual or the manufactures web site.
