Access VirtualBox files from Mac OS host?
Access VirtualBox files from Mac OS host?
Is this possible, to access the VB files from the Mac host, or transfer the files from the VB to the Mac host, and how do you do it?

If you mean the guests file, yes there is. Shared folders.

Re: Access VirtualBox files from Mac OS host?
Thank you for the reply. I cant really understand fully what to do.
On the Mac OS host, I created a folder and made it available to share. Then on the virtualbox guest system settings, I made that folder a share folder (transient).
But I have no idea the path to access that folder within the virtualbox guest.

Then use the shared folders. You must have the guest additions installed (on the guest) and then the shared folder will show under vboxsf or you can mount the shared folder as a drive. You can click on help on the title bar of the guest and then contents to see the instructions. Look at chapter 4.3.1 Manual mounting
in your VirtualBox users manual.
in your VirtualBox users manual.

One last question, where is the devices menu? It is not located in settings, nor at the bottom right of the window where mini icons displaying shared folders, disc drive, mouse integration are located.

Re: Access VirtualBox files from Mac OS host?
Should be on the top title bar of the guest
Re: Access VirtualBox files from Mac OS host?
I have no title bar. Just the typical red yellow and green circle dots on the top left.

If you start the guest in a windowed view there should be Machine View Devices Help on the top.
If not then try the host key (Host+D) to mount the additions.
Hint: Host key is usually the right Ctrl key but you may need to look in the preferences to be sure.
