(Solved) Slackware based OS's & XFCE compositing Issue

Post by loukingjr »

I installed both the 32bit and 64bit versions of SalixOS 14.0. For some reason, with XFCE 4.10 compositing enabled but transparency off, after running the guests for a little while, inactive windows become transparent on their own. It seems to be related to Slackware 14 with XFCE 4.10 because a Vector 7 guest with 4.10 and a Zenwalk guest running 4.10 all have the same symptoms. I've installed many OS's which run XFCE 4.10 based on Debian, Ubuntu, Arch and PCLinuxOS and none of them have the same symptoms. I don't understand how the problem is even possible. The folks at SalixOS insist they don't have the problem running on hardware. Anyone know how a transparency setting can "magically" change settings?

thanks ahead of time.

edit: currently running VB 4.2.4 on a OSX 10.8.2 host.

Good grief. It seems since I am using the Apple Magic Mouse, Salix is "seeing" slight movements to the left and right on the mouse as gestures and if I happen to have the cursor over a windows title bar it will increase or decrease the opacity of that window.
