Can some one help me on this issue and clear how in previous recommendation was to be fixed if the restore is to be run on the W7 or the VM and how.

My virtualbox is running on a W7 OS

While updating to the 4.2.4 version that ended ok restart the VM and

The black box of hell comes up with the following message

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
<windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe.
Please reinstall a copy of the above file.
