Hello --
I am using the latest VB version on Windows 7. I have a dual-boot partition (Windows7 - NTFS and Debian64 - EXT4). I have a SUSE VM in VirtualBox on the Windows host. (Windows can see the LINUX partition in Disk Management, but of course cannot access it -- this is not a problem for me). However, is it possible to access the LINUX HD/EXT4 partition from my VM? Even if it is just read-only this is fine, but ideally RW would be great.
I tried searching around for similar setups and could not find much. I also tried the disk partition tool in the VM/SUSE, but it does not automatically 'see' the HD partition. Does anyone have any pointers?
Thanks!
Possible to mount EXT4 partition in Win7 Host?

Drop mount ext4 in windows in google, but it is not something you want to do on a whim. Be sure to read all the disclaimers and warnings.

Thanks Perryg, yes, I have spent part of the afternoon reading the pitfalls and problems with this. Found this article if it helps anyone (references EXT3, but not sure if it would work for the updated VB or file system -- the article is a little old by technical terms): http://www.ubuntugeek.com/howto-access- ... ndows.htmlPerryg wrote:Drop mount ext4 in windows in google, but it is not something you want to do on a whim. Thanks! Might just keep my hands off this partition!

I will say that if you reversed this Linux reads and writes to NTFS just fine, and I have never had an issue with it myself.
