Has anyone been able to run vbox on a windows 7 64-bit host with multiple video cards after installing the guest utilities? The reason I ask is my host is running windows 7 64bit and has two video cards, I setup an XP guest with SP3 and after I try to install the guest utilities with either 3d checked or unchecked, when running anything but safe mode, the vbox guest application dies and you get the dialog box saying the application has terminated and its looking for a solution which is does not find. I have a pre-guest utility copy of the guest so I know its specifically related to installing them because it runs fine before trying to install. Installation is done using the Administrator account in safe mode. I have even done installation without being in safe mode and the same thing happens. I am running a fresh install of the latest virtualbox off this site for windows and same for the guest utilities. When get back to it, I will dump a boot log and see what driver loads before it terminates.
Initially I want to see if anyone has had success with multiple graphics cards in the host.

Re: Multiple video cards on windows host
My (XP host) machine at work technically has two graphics cards, though I only use one of them. VirtualBox has never seemed troubled by it.
Why do you conclude that having multiple cards is the issue? Why is this not just 3D driver problems with a particular card?

Re: Multiple video cards on windows host
Because I have installed the guest utilities each time from a clean install both with 3d checked and not checked and I have also tried turning on and off 3d is the VM settings as I stated in my original post. I also didnt say thats exactly the issue, I asked if anyone else was able to install and run the guest utilites fine from a windows 7 64 bit host that has multiple video cards on a windows xp 32 bit guest.
