CAN over Ethernet

Hello,

I have a CAN Interface on my host system and will use them in the guest system. My idea is to tunnel CAN over Ethernet. Is there already a solution from a third party manufactor available or is my idea the wrong way? When there is no solution available, i will write a dot net oder java webservice for the communication.

Why do you consider this a VirtualBox question? Surely you can just Google for "CAN over Ethernet" and apply the results, regardless of the PC being virtual or not? I would expect any solution to work fine in any VM using bridged networking.

I asked this question here, because I am not shure if my idea is good or not. I think that other users here had the same problem before and can make good suggestions to solve the problem .
