Windows host, Oracle Linux guests, kernel panics

Post by Pucster »

So, my virtual machines won't start until they randomly decide so (1-50 reboots). I started writing about this and lost the post. I am really really tired of trying to deal with this after reading about everything on the subject so, I'll just attach a log and wait for a 'duh!' moment where I realize the answer was there all along.

Long story short - Windows 7 host, Oracle Linux (5.6 and 6.3) guests, they run fine once they boot but oh, they so rarely do so. And last night power went off and ...

Using PIIX3 and IO APIC on all of them, switching to ICH9 sometimes temporarily solves the problem and the machine(s) eventually boot but I guess it's random as well.

I am really really lost. Please share some wisdom and point me to the place where I don't want to bang my head repeatedly against my monitor.

Okay, I have two print screens of some panics - one is from a Zabbix appliance (OpenSuse) and one is a OL 5.6 - oh well, looks like I can only attach three files? :|
