Hi all,

Hi All,

I am facing the problem that i am not able to ssh from windows7 host to OEL5 guest (installed on VBox)

ipaddress for host machine :- 192.168.56.3

ip address for guest machine :- 192.168.56.101

subnet mask :- 255.255.255.0 (for both machine)

It used to work fine 2 months ago but i had to reinstall the VB machine and i don't know what went wrong this time.

I am able to ping guest machine ip from host but not able to ping host ip from guest machine.
Entry of guest machine ip has updated in windows host file.

Please help me, i really need it done asap :(

Other info is as below :-

Network selected in virtual box:- Host-only networking
SSh status :- running on port 22
rpm info :- Rpm like openssh-server, portmap, xinetd all are installed and working fine.

I/O APIC is enabled in virtual box.

While try to connect trrough putty it gives "Network error: Connection refused" error

Connection refused" error
This means it is a guest issue since it is seeing the request and refusing it. Not much we can do about that. Have you tried to setup a VirtualBox shared folder? Or you could use a thumb drive.
