Virtual box is free to use? also is open source? is any paid version?

I have a
SONY LAPTOP 2004-2005
VAIO VGN-A297XP
cetrino 1.9GHz one core processor...

well, can accept virtual box to run Linux(even one core)?

also is open source? => Yes.

is any paid version? => There is an extension pack. More functions like USB2 etc. Its free for private use.

well, can accept virtual box to run Linux(even one core)? => Runs on Windows and Linux Hosts and runs Windows and Linux Guests.

If you have enough RAM, then its no problem. One core is enough. Maybe then Host will be slower, if on hosts and guest many software is heavily working. Try it yourself. Its free and so no risk.

my laptop ram is 2GB Only... win xp is,... may install fedora or ubuntu, newest... what you recommend for this? more powerful systems may run 3 or more guest OSs same time?
