Running Thunderbird with profile shared host-to-guest

On a Sony Vaio laptop I have VirtualBox Host in Windows 7. The guest is a Linux Mint 13. Both host and guest are 64 bit.

I shared the Windows folder with the Thunderbird profile. In the .thunderbird on the Mint guest I have the profile.ini file point to the profile in the shared folder.

Opening Thunderbird in the Linux guest is consistently giving the error: "Thunderbird is already running but not responding..." I've removed the lock files that should alleviate this.

Any ideas?

The "Third Party Applications" forum is for people (third parties) selling VirtualBox related software and services. Yours is a bog standard support question hence I've moved it to "Linux Guests".

I would ask the Thunderbird people about any problems you have with their software.
