USB device not working

Hello,

I see that some USB drives not working. I don't know if this is related or not, but my Mag-Tek USB Swipe Reader, plugs into a computer and lets you use your accounting and directly enters credit cards instead of manually typing them. I use Sage Accounting (Peachtree) and I use Virtualbox to run it under windows XP SP3. After upgrading to 4.2.4 the card swiper no longer works. It is still in the USB section on the VirtualBox Machine list. I don't get any errors and everything else works great.

It shows up in the lists under devices menu but it's greyed out. Never had a problem until the upgrade. I'm not sure if it was greyed out before. When the machine is off it lets me add it to the list (or remove it.)

Any ideas?

I forgot about doing it. I need to do it now though. I'm having too many problems.

Wouldn't it be deleting
Home/Library/Preferences/org.virtualbox.app.VirtualBox.plist
Home/Library/Preferences/org.virtualbox.app.VirtualBoxVM.plist

that is what I was going to do.

UPDATE: Okay my problem was stupidity. First you can delete the preferences okay. Second my problem was the credit card reader needed plugged in after the VM was started. How stupid I am! I started having the problem because the OSX had an update and it needed restarted. The script then starts the VM automatically but I hadn't unplugged and plugged back in the creditcard reader so it wasn't working. The new version (2.4.2) works too. Now all is fine.

I did that, and when the win 7 is up, it recognize the usb but not sending power to home and finley doesn't work at all...
what is the problem?
