Windows XP and Direct 3D
Windows XP and Direct 3D
I've installed virtualbox in Win7 pro. I've then installed win xp home edition in virtualbox. After installing a couple of games in xp I get a message saying that Direct 3D is not set up on my graphics card. I've ticked the 3D acceleration box in Display, but this hasn't worked. Any ideas?

Re: Windows XP and Direct 3D
I suggest you start by reading the manual.

I have tried reading the manual. I've opened the virtual media manager but can't find the Devices menu.

Run your guest, will see the Devices listed.
Re: Windows XP and Direct 3D
OK mounted guest additions and installed in safe mode. now getting message decodepointer could not be located in the dll. so program won't load.

Re: Windows XP and Direct 3D
Sorry but I can't help you any further. I don't use VBox to play games.
Most users would advise against it, you only have to read past posts.
