Hi,
I have VirtualBox/WindowsXP on two MacBook Airs running OSX10.7.5. On both, the Apple extended keyboard number pad: the numbers do not work, but the math symbol keys do.

I installed the BootCamp drivers for the Apple extended keyboard, and this did not help. I also tried setting up a Microsoft keyboard as an alternative, but it was not found, even though I had pre-installed the drivers for it. Any thoughts?

Perhaps Windows XP doesn't think the Num Lock key has been pressed. Have you tried pressing the key in the corresponding place on the Mac keyboard? I believe it's the "clear" key in the upper left hand side of the numeric keypad.
