Problem accessing guest

Hi !
I'm using VirtualBox 4.2.4 on win 7 and installed a centos guest.
The problem is that I can't connect to the guest.
I've tried using just NAT network but then I can't access internet from the guest .
When using bridged adapter ths works , I can do ssh to the guest but nothing more.
I installed netcat on guest and in cygwim om my Win7 host.
Doing "hello " | nc 8080 on the guest and nc <host-ip> 8080 does not work, it's just hanging.

So why is it that ssh works but nothing else I've tried

Solution Turn off the fw :
service iptables stop
