VBoxManage guestcontrol unwanted timeout

Hi,

VirtualBox 4.2.4, Mac OS X host, Windows 7 guest. Running a bat script via VBoxManage guestcontrol, which always fails with VERR_TIMEOUT, no matter which options I use. Any ideas?
