My system is a Fedora17 on a 32bit cpu notebook, and I installed the VirtualBox4.2, and I also installed the GeForce Go7300 driver for my notebook.
Then I create a Windows 8 Virtual machine use the VirtualBox, and load the Win 8 iso into the CD, when the Windows8 installation logo shows to me, the VirtualBox always show me this message, then the Windows8 cannot installed.
"The virtual machine window is optimized to work in 32 bit color mode but the virtual display is currently set to 24 bit.
Please open the display properties dialog of the guest OS and select a 32 bit color mode, if it is available, for best possible performance of the virtual video subsystem."

That message is a warning: it will not prevent you from installing an OS. The message is simply warning you that the VM is not currently configured for the optimal graphics mode: which is true, in fact it's running in text mode. There is a checkbox on the dialog to disable it.

Wait a minute. "32bit cpu notebook" I doubt you will get Windows 8 to install. The NX bit is mandatory on Windows 8 and the NX bit that VBox uses, does not work properly unless the host machine has hardware virtualization capabilities.
