(Solved) Can't install Xubuntu 13.04 in VirtualBox?

I downloaded the daily build of the upcoming Xubuntu 13.04 to install as a guest. When I run the installer it never asks if I want to use the entire disk etc. It does ask for my user info, time zone, etc. but there is no progress window and it doesn't install. It runs fine off the .iso. I don't know if it's a VB issue or a 13.04 issue. I realize it's very alpha. running 4.2.4 on OSX 10.8.2.

any thoughts?

I think what you are seeing is an issue with ubiquity and the fact they are changing the installer. I would give them a few more daily images before I got too concerned.

there was a bug in ubiquity. just had to run in live mode, update it and install.

Just for completion in case someone else happens by in the next few days.

Boot into live mode and in a terminal run the following:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade ubiquity
Now it looks like they are holding this back due to the bug so if this does not work run the following

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get dist-upgrade ubiquity
Then click the install icon on the desktop.
