I'll type in Portuguese because it is my native language.
Please, use Google Translate to translate from Portuguese to English.
Thank you.

Instalei o Virtual Box 4.2.4r81684
Até ontem de manhã estava tudo ok, porém desde ontem a noite, a máquina virtual está muito, muito, muito lenta.
O que eu devo configurar para melhorar o desempenho?

Post the guests log file (as an attachment)
See Online Users Manual for the location of the file.

@iMVirtual,

First I would fix this.

Code: Select all

00:00:40.552715 Host path 'D:\LapData\VMShareData', map name 'VMShareData', writable, automount=true, create_symlinks=false
00:00:40.559795 ERROR [COM]: aRC=E_INVALIDARG (0x80070057) aIID={db7ab4ca-2a3f-4183-9243-c1208da92392} aComponent={Console} aText={Shared folder path 'D:\Web Download' does not exist on the host}, preserve=false
00:00:40.562479 Console: VM runtime error: fatal=false, errorID=BrokenSharedFolder message="The shared folder 'Web_Download' could not be set up: Shared folder path 'D:\Web Download' does not exist on the host.
00:00:40.562486 The shared folder setup will not be complete. It is recommended to power down the virtual machine and fix the shared folder settings while the machine is not running"
Something strange here.

Code: Select all

00:00:40.429418 HWACCM: 32-bit guests supported.
I would expect to see 64-bit as well.

What is the guest exactly?

I already Fix this is a leftover share, it didn't make any difference.

What is the guest exactly?
Guest is XP SP3 (32), Host is XP SP3 (32).
My company still have XP as OS.

any other thing, do you need more info?.

regards,

iMVirtual.

I believe that after updating to a new Virtualbox version, you should reinstall the Guest additions in each of your VMs.

If you read the log file you would see that the installed guest additions is 4.2.4

@iMVirtual,

What version did you upgrade from?

@iMVirtual: Reduce the number of cores assigned to the guest. 1 is probably plenty. 4 is definitely too much considering that it leaves none for the host. And since an VM services are actually performed by the host, leaving the host with no CPU results in... ah, you guessed.

I have 8 CPUs, and I was just trying some different configs to speed up the VM. :roll:

Your earlier message said you were using a Lenovo W520. My searches indicated that it has a quad core CPU.

i7 ?

So I guess quad core but if HyperThreading is enabled, they show up as 8 in windows.

It doesn't matter what they show up as. It's a quad core CPU, so leave one core for the host, assign a max of 3 cores to VMs. Try assigning one core per VM first, as that is what is known to work for the majority of users.
