Trying to install Mint or Fedora on Virtualbox on Windows 8

Post by Eddie1234567 »

Hi, I have upgraded to win 8 64bit (don't know why, think I might have been drunk lol).

But anyway I have installed virtualbox r4.2 81684 and I am trying to create a Linux host, so far Mint and Fedora tried

So far its not working, It comes up with the initial screens and counts down to the install, but once that has finished the countdown, it just hangs there and does nothing.

I have tried allocate dynamic disk and then having the disk fully created.

My machine is 64bit, 4 gig with 2gig allocated to the VM and all mod cons of course

Anyone have any thoughts

I assume you mean that you are installing a Linux guest, not host (especially considering the forum).

Post the VM log file of a failed session. Post it as a zipped attachment after making sure to shut down the VM. The log file is called "VBox.log", and can be found in the "Logs" subfolder of your VM folder.

I also have the same issue. after the initial boot count down the screen goes blank and nothing happens. i did look for the log file but there isnt anything under that name.
Alright i have solved my problem... i had fedora selected instead of fedora 64 at select version
