I am running Win7 - 64 bit host and Guest. I have tried Virtualbox 3.x and currently v4.1.12 (which is the highest version I can use to be compatible with ShadowProtect).
My Screen sometimes (randomly) turns white with black side-borders. If I shut-down the VM, I can transiently see the desktop again before it is completely shut down. When I reboot, the screen is fine again until it happens again.
Any suggestions?

Re: Random White Screen with Black Border
I have attached the two latest log files. I do not recall if I got the white screen in the session with VBoxSVC.log.1 or VBoxSVC.log.mpack wrote:VM log file please - as a .zip attachment.
Both have errors...
Thanks for helping!
p.s. Note that Drive E is one of my shared Machine Folders (a hard drive).

Post the guests log file (as an attachment) not the svc logs.
See Online Users Manual for the location of the file.

OK. Sorry about that. Two guest log files are attached VBoxSVC.log.1 & VBoxSVC.log.2.Perryg wrote:Post the guests log file (as an attachment) not the svc logs.

I am not 100% sure, but I believe that I got the white screen in the session with VBoxSVC.log.1.

Re: Random White Screen with Black Border
What happens if you use the (host+f) toggle to go in and out of full screen when this happens? Does it bring the screen back?
Also is the screen saver deactivated in the guest? What about the power settings for the guest?

1. In and out of full screen didn't helpPerryg wrote:What happens if you use the (host+f) toggle to go in and out of full screen when this happens? Does it bring the screen back?

2. However, when I tried to preview the screen saver, I got the same issue. A program had installed an incompatible screen saver. This seems to have resolved the issue! THANK YOU!!
