Change vm description from vboxmanage

Post by mikedoy »

Is there a way to change the "Description" of a virtual machine from the vboxmanage command line? I can't seem to find a way to do it.

I find that the user manual is a great place to find out what features do or don't exist.

I do also find it to be a great place to look for information.
Unfortunatelly, after reading it several times looking for small letters regarding this capability, I didn't find anything regarding this.
Since the absence of information doesn't mind that it can't be done, that's why I am asking.

AFAIK this is not even talked about in the manual, except a brief explanation of what it is, and only within the GUI.

If you look at the control file for the guest that has a description you can actually see it but I strongly suggest that you do not edit this file. Bad things can happen, and probably why they do not have a VBoxManage function to add, edit, delete the description.
