downloading installing Windows 8 issue

Hello - I am running a Macbook Pro 8GB, 2.8GHz dual intel -

When I run the windows installer it says:
The processor is less than 1 Ghz and so Windows 8 cannot install. I have set the VB settings to both processors at 100%.

Am I missing something obvious?

Hello Bob,

I have the same issue with my MacBook Pro (Intel Core2Duo, 2,4GHz, 4 GB RAM) with Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
The windows 8 upgrade assistant complains that the processor speed is below 1GHz and stops.

I am using Virtual Box 4.2.6 with Guest additions installed, have an existing WinXP Professional SP3 guest from where I start the assistant.
I set my processor setting to 2 cores, 100% Execution Cap and PAE/NX is enabled. Acceleration settings (VT-x, nesting paging) are enabled, too.

When I check my WinXP system settings, I see something strange:
Computer:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU
P8600 @ 2.40GHz
669 MHz, 2,00 GB RAM
physical address extension

I assume that upgrade assistant sees the 669MHz and stops therefore.

Anybody who has the same issue or Bob: did you find a solution for the issue?

Same issue here,

did you find a solution? I cannot check the box "Enable PAE/NX" - could this be a reason? Any ideas would be very welcome.

I've read that MacBooks will slow the CPU speed while on battery to conserve battery life. Have you tried plugging it into the wall and changing the Energy Saver system preference to Better Performance and then trying to run the windows installer? And change the number of CPUs back to 1.
