Windows Update Issue

Post by roadrunner »

I'm running the following version (the latest as of this post) of Virtualbox : 4.2.0 r80737
I receive the following error when trying to do a windows update (windows xp) on this vm.

"[Error number: 0x80244019]

I found something on Microsofts Site searching the error code. It's says you can't be behind a firewall or proxy server and do the windows updates. I don't think either apply to my home pc. I tried turning off windows firewall but the updates STILL fail. Any ideas guys?

This doesn't sound like a VirtualBox problem. It sounds like you may need to update Internet Explorer or change some of its settings - either way it's a question for Microsoft.

Also - moving this topic to "Windows Guests" since this issue is in no way generic enough for "Using VirtualBox".
