Can I use the keyboard to toggle between host & VM?
I'm running virtual box on a Mac OS host with Windows 7 as my virtual machine. When I'm in mac, I can use the shortcut Command + Tab to transfer windows to the program I'm running on the virtual machine. But once I'm in that program, I cannot use the same shortcut to toggle back to my Mac program. Anyone know what the problem is? Thanks!

The same key combination should toggle you back, but the host OS would have to be in focus, not the guest. Have you tried clicking the mouse outside the guest window before you toggle?

Actually, the whole point is that I don't want to use the mouse at all. I'm wanting to toggle back and forth without touching the mouse.BillG wrote:The same key combination should toggle you back, but the host OS would have to be in focus, not the guest. If you are using the vm, you have to do something to change the focus if you want the input from the keyboard to go to the host OS. The simplest way to do that is to click the mouse outside the vm window. I guess there is a way to do that from the keyboard. I have never needed to use it, so I don't know if or what it is.

Press the left cmd key, then press left cmd key +1 to switch to screen #1. Or another # for a different screen.
To cycle among running programs ...
1 - Press the left command key
2 - Press left command key + tab key

That is indeed the trick. Although I'd say 'press the Host key' - it defaults to the left Command key on OS X, but can be reconfigured, and has a different default on other platforms.nxgonzalez wrote:Press the left cmd key, then press left cmd key +1 to switch to screen #1.
