Static IP

I am trying to configure RHEL 5 Server with a static IP. I did that at work where I was connected to the internet through a cable and was able to access the
server on the static IP through SSH using a Host Only configuration with Virtual Box 4.2.0.

Now when I am home on my wireless connection it does not work. What gives? I am guess it has something to do with me using a wireless adapter now as opposed to the hard line connection at work. Is Host Only appropriate here?
