Installation of Guest Additions fails

I have a problem that installation of Guest Additions (host Windows, guest Oracle Linux) fails on the Building the main Guest Additions module step.

The details give a hint:
/tmp/vbox.0/Makefile.include.header:97 *** Error: unable to find the sources of your current Linux kernel. Specify KERN_DIR=<directory> and run Make again. Stop.

Not being very experienced in Linux/VirtualBox I can't figure out how to get rid of this problem - hints I could find suggest that some libraries must be installed.

Note also, that my main problem is that I cannot mount share folders (which has lead to the attempt to install Guest Additions that seem required to make it working), so I'd not know how to get some more installation files into my image.

"Windows Hosts" is not appropriate for that question. Moving to "Linux Guests".

I recommended that you see this viewforum.php?f=29, I followed the tutorial and I could do the installation of VBoxGuestAdditions

Thnk you for your answer. If I want to follow this tutorial I need to resolve another problem first (I will create another thread for that one).
