I have used a virtual firewall on a different subnet for my local network using untangle and pfsense on a server for quite a while, but I have a question please.
I have since installed dvbviewer and its web recording server to record from my local machines and stream.
Because the server is acting as a firewall and on another subnet within the virtual I can't see this server on the main server not inside the virtual. I can't put the dvbviewer inside a virtual for passthrough hardware issues.
Is there a way to still use the server as a firewall, but also as a media dvbserver and still access it on the other subnet?
Do I need to instead of using bridged adapter in virtualbox use a NAT one and forward the port for the dvbserver?
Are there any other solutions without adding more PC servers to achieve the task? This is a diagram of what I am trying to do.
I had a network diagram, but because of rules couldn't post.

That really has very little to do with VirtualBox. Network problems do not become VIrtualBox problems just because you are using virtual machines and/or virtual networks. It is still a networking problem.

I know its networking, but I want to work out how to use virtualbox with the virtual firewall I have installed and how to route the traffic to the video server which isn't in the virtual. Please I just don't know how or what adapter I should use or select to do what I require. I am using bridge at the moment.

Re: !Help Virtual Firewall different subnet access
There is still nothing that requires any action in VirtualBox that I can see. Communication between the networks inside and outside the firewall are controlled by the firewall settings, not VirtualBox. The fact that the firewall is running in a vm does not change the way that it works.
I cannot comment on whether the VirtualBox settings you are using for the firewall are satisfactory or not. "I am using bridge" is not much use since the vm must have at least two NICs to be operating as a firewall.
